The designing of a school curriculum requires a vision. Detailed evaluation and improvement are made year after year in the curriculum. This has made it imperative for us to devise the most effective method for the implementation of the requirements of the curriculum. As we are following the CBSE pattern, we devote intensive teaching methods along with co-curricular activities and follow CBSE exam patterns.
The pre-primary wing of the school consists of Play Group, LKG, and UKG and caters to the needs and demands of early childhood. Bearing in mind that the foundation of a child’s personality is laid and two-thirds of their intellect is formed at this age, we have created an environment and a system of teaching which is entirely child-friendly. Formal learning of the three R's is introduced in Play Group and LKG. It finds a more prominent place in the UKG curriculum, which includes recognition, reading and writing of English, Punjabi, and Hindi alphabets and small words and also basic arithmetical concepts.
The syllabus becomes more broad-based at this level and gradually the young learner is exposed to a wide range of subjects and study materials which are suitably graded. Apart from Mathematics, English, Punjabi, and Hindi, subjects like General Science and E.V.S/Social Science are introduced. Computer Science is introduced in Class I. As early as Class I, students learn to work on computers in the multimedia lab which has been specially equipped to meet the needs of young learners. Divinity is also part of the curriculum from Grade I to enhance moral values.
Students of Upper Primary study English, Hindi, Punjabi, Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, and Social Science. Co-curricular activities include Physical and Health Education, Work Experience, and Art Education to support the holistic development of students.
